Cost drivers are the laminate's thickness and wear rating (AC4 for homes, AC5 for heavy use and rentals), the underlay (a 3–5mm foam or fibreboard with a damp-proof membrane on ground floors), the subfloor condition, and the number of doorways, thresholds and awkward cuts.
